Denoising

As a result of the acquisition, there was a fair amount of Spike, coherent noise and ground roll inherent in some surveys. This low frequency noise was generally due to cable tug and see swell. It was therefore determined that the data could benefit from an application of a deswell filter to help reduce ground roll noise trains. The process was done in shot domain by measuring sample by sample the ratio of energy in a low frequency band containing swell noise to the energy contained the primary data. When this ration exceeds a user specified threshold, the low frequency band is suppressed from the original data.
